Many of the city’s signature summer events were put on hold due to the pandemic in 2020, but a large number of events in Loveland in 2021 are returning. One Sweet Summer

 

Celebrate summer with One Sweet Summer of activities downtown. The concert series is held every Wednesday at Foundry Plaza with a lineup that features a huge range of musical acts to bring energy and fun downtown. One Sweet Summer includes other events for the entire family, such as Kids on the Plaza activities every Wednesday afternoon with artists and the local library followed by a $2 kids movie.

 

There are also free fitness classes at Foundry Plaza on select Saturdays and Thursdays and Saturday Dine Outs in the summer with extended patio dining at many great downtown restaurants. One Sweet Summer provides summer fun for the entire family in downtown Loveland.

Larimer County Fair and Rodeo

 

One of the biggest events in Northern Colorado, the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo returns to Loveland August 6-10, 2021. The event brings together ranchers, vendors, restaurants and breweries, community groups, performers, and more for five days of community fun and celebration.

 

The festivities kick off with the parade fair through downtown Loveland on July 31. During fair week, check out the vendors and food tents, the many games and activities, stages for of performers, rides, and of course the livestock competitions, auctions, and rodeo.

The Larimer County Fair brings in people and competitors of all ages from around Northern Colorado. There’s something for everyone at the fair, and the Larimer County Fair is one of the best in all of Colorado.

4th of July Community Celebration

 

Loveland is known for a great Independence Day celebration. The day begins with the Loveland Liberty 5k that starts at Fairgrounds Park. The traditional fireworks were modified in 2020 and continue in 2021 with a unique take on a 4th of July classic.

 

Loveland is partnering with the City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, and The Ranch Event Complex to host the free drive-in fireworks show. The event is free to the public and allows guests to view amazing fireworks from the comfort and safety of their own cars.

 

Gates open at 6 pm, with the fireworks starting around 9:15. It’s the perfect way to safely participate in a community celebration.

 

Farmers Market

 

Every Sunday morning from June through September, local farmers, vendors, and artisans gather at Fairgrounds Park for Loveland’s traditional Farmers Market.

The market was voted one of the 10 best in Colorado and brings farm-fresh produce, poultry, and dairy straight to Loveland residents. The Farmers Market is a great atmosphere and brings together the community to celebrate and support local farmers and artisans.

 

Special Farmers Market events feature additional artisan booths and a beer garden.

Loveland Summer Concert Series

 

Every Thursday night through August, the community gathers at the Foote Lagoon for free summer fun and live music. The concerts are free and fun for all ages starting at 6:30 pm with kids’ activities and food trucks.

 

The concerts start at 7 pm and feature a wide variety of local and regional performing groups, ranging from big bands to jazz and bluegrass acts. It’s a great casual atmosphere to relax and enjoy time with friends and family while listening to great music.

 

Bring a blanket or chair and picnic dinner or grab food from the food trucks and enjoy a wonderful summer evening.

 

Movies on Main

 

Take your movie watching experience outside with Movies on Main, an outdoor movie series held on Main Plaza once a month during the summer. Gates open at 6:30 pm with food, music, and activities.

 

Bring a blanket and get ready to watch the movie starting at sundown. The three movies shown in 2021 are fun for people of all ages. Movies on Main is a fun way to relax and enjoy a movie on the big screen in the warm summer air.

 

Loveland Loves BBQ, Bands, and Brews

 

The annual community favorite event Loveland Loves BBQ, Bands, and Brews has been happening for more than 10 years and will be held July 10-11, 2021 at the Old Fairgrounds. The event is free to enter and includes BBQ and drinks from some of the city’s best restaurants and breweries, as well as a full lineup of great live music.

Food and drink are available to purchase with tokens, and all proceeds benefit local charities including Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County, House of Neighborly Services, and Loveland Sertoma. Enjoy great BBQ, beer, and music while supporting great local charities.

 

Summer Storywalk

 

Families and kids of all ages can enjoy reading a book outside as they wander around the Foote Lagoon. Through June and July, the Loveland Public Library will have stations around the Lagoon with pages and pictures from the popular children’s book The Day the Crayons Quit.

 

As participants walk around the Lagoon, they will read parts of the book at each station. It’s a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful summer weather with an interactive and self-guided activity the whole family will love.

 

Sculpture in the Park

 

Loveland is known for its dedication to the arts, and that becomes very clear at the annual Sculpture in the Park show and sale. The 2021 event will take place August 6-8, with a Patron Party on Friday evening and general admission on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Sculpture in the Park brings together sculptures from around Colorado and the country to showcase their work in the Benson Sculpture Garden for the largest outdoor juried sculpture show in the country.

 

Enjoy a beautiful walk through the park to admire the diverse collection of sculptures in different styles and mediums. And if you find something you like, take it home to support a talented artist.

 

Arts in the Park

 

Arts in the Park is Colorado’s longest-running artisan festival and has been happening for more than 50 years. More than 200 artisans participate in the event to showcase their creations, ranging from pottery and painting to woodcrafts and many more.

This event is a great way to see and meet local artists in a beautiful outdoor setting. The event will take place August 7-8, 2021 at North Lake Park and serves as a fundraiser for the Thompson Valley Art League.

 

Loveland Fine Arts Invitational

 

Another great summer event celebrating Loveland’s thriving arts scene is the annual Fine Arts and Sculpture Invitational, held August 6-8, 2021, rounding out Loveland’s Art Weekend.

 

The Fine Arts Invitational showcases a wide variety of artwork in white tents surrounding the picturesque Loveland Lake and brings together artists from around the country. The event features a huge variety of styles and mediums. Alongside the art is a beer and wine garden.

 

Choose your drink and enjoy sipping it as you wander the tents to take in the beautiful art. With three great arts event in one weekend, Art Weekend is perfect for art lovers.

 

Corn Roast Festival

 

The Loveland Corn Roast Festival returns in 2021 for its 125th year on August 27-28 at Old Fairgrounds Park. This event is a tradition in Loveland that brings the city together to end the summer with a great celebration of food and community.

 

The celebration starts with a parade comprised of floats, animals, and cars from local groups. The activities then begin at the park, with corn-related fun for the entire family.
