christmas events in fort collins 2019In Fort Collins and all throughout Northern Colorado, the 2019 holiday season brings a number of festive and cheerful holiday events and activities for people of all ages. Temperatures may be dropping, and snow may be falling, but there are many memorable things you can do to get out of your Fort Collins rental home and into the Christmas spirit in 2019.

Brewery Lights at Anheuser-Busch

Every year the Anheuser-Busch brewery in north Forth Collins transforms into a remarkable holiday experience. Until December 29th, you can witness the magic of more than one million twinkling lights on every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. From 5 pm to 9 pm, people of any age can enjoy festive entertainment and beautiful lights, while those over 21 can make the most of the brewery with their Winter Night Frosty Tour.

Garden of Lights at The Gardens of Spring Creek

Between December 13th and 29th, the Gardens of Spring Creek is whimsically decorated with hundreds of thousands of twinkling LED lights. Bundle up for one of Northern Colorado’s favorite traditions and make your way through flower beds, grapevines, sculptural flowers, butterflies, and other garden creatures made entirely of holiday lights. On the weekends, you can also take advantage of visits from Santa, reindeer, and holiday music. This year the Garden Of Lights has expanded, and you can also enjoy an animated Color Blossom Show with 700 lighted and dancing blossoms along the Great Lawn. Admission is only $8-$11 per person, and the event is open every evening from 5-9 pm (excluding December 25th).

Old Town Holiday Lights

You can take in the magic of Christmas by simply heading to Old Town Fort Collins for dinner, shopping, drinks, or coffee. Every year, the 22 block-faces of Old Town are beautifully decorated with bright white lights for the community to enjoy until Valentine’s Day.

Santa’s Workshop

If you’re heading to Downtown Fort Collins before it gets dark, stop by Santa’s Workshop in Old Town Square to get your annual picture with Santa. Children of all ages are welcome to visit with Santa while you take their picture. There is also a photographer available to take professional pictures of your little ones or your whole family. Visit early in the holiday season to avoid long lines.

Skate the Pond

Hit the ice for a timeless winter tradition at The Pond at Foothills Mall. As Northern Colorado’s largest outdoor skating rink, you can skate for as long as you and your loved ones want. Admission is only $4-$7, and skates can be rented for only $3 more, or you can bring your own skates instead.

Winter Wonderland at The Mishawaka

Just a short drive outside of your Fort Collins rental home, The Mishawaka Amphitheatre is hosting its second annual Winter Wonderland event during the entire month of December. Decorated with lights, trees, and special installations for kids, The Mishawaka is wrapped up like a present inside and out. Complete with a winter forest, s’mores stations, hot drinks, and ornament creating, Winter Wonderland is the perfect place to get in the holiday spirit.

The Nutcracker at The Lincoln Center

Out of the many 2019 holiday events in Fort Collins, the Nutcracker is a favorite holiday theatrical event for young and old as it follows Clara through a magical Christmas Eve adventure. December 13th and 14th, the Lincoln Center will present this beloved Christmas story for the 38th year. Ticket prices for the ballet range from $25-$40, and they sell out quickly, so act quickly if you don’t want to miss out on the magic of The Nutcracker.
