Tour de Fat Fort Collins

Tour de Fat is a crazy celebration of bikes and beer. Hosted by New Belgium Brewing, Tour de Fat is an incredibly popular event every year. Dress up in the most ridiculous costumes and cycle over for a wild mix of music, beer, entertainment, and dancing. Tour de Fat Fort Collins is on Saturday, September 1st, and benefits Bike Ft. Collins, Overland Mountain Bike Club, Ft. Collins Bike CO-OP, and Ciclismo Youth Foundation. This year's event features music headliner, Phosphorescent. The bike parade launches at 9:00 am with doors opening for the event at 2:00 pm. A dance contest begins at 6:10 pm and the concert at 6:45 pm.

 

Fortitude 10K

For avid and amateur runners alike, the second annual Labor Day Fortitude 10K race on Monday, September 3rd, should be on the top of your list for Labor Day plans. The race will go through many landmarks of the city including City Park and downtown and will end at Colorado State University’s (CSU) new stadium. The Fortitude 10K is put on in collaboration with BolderBoulder Inc. to bring together the diverse community of runners, joggers, and walkers of Fort Collins.

 

Horsetooth Reservoir

Horsetooth Reservoir is located just a few miles outside of Fort Collins and offers one of the most scenic locations in Northern Colorado. Horsetooth Reservoir is a popular spot for water activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, water skiing, and swimming. There are also excellent trails for hiking, mountain biking, and even horseback riding. The reservoir provides an excellent location to enjoy outdoor activities in the beautiful Colorado weather on this Labor Day.

 

Take a Brewery Tour 

Celebrate your Fort Collins Labor Day weekend with a brewery tour at one of the many breweries in Fort Collins. Enjoy an immersive tour that allows you to see the brewing process from start to finish.

The Fort Collins Brewery offers tours on Mondays through Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm, with tours leaving every 45 minutes. Their tour is great for visitors of all ages. If you have a small group of fewer than 15 people, a reservation is not necessary.

 

Live Music at Odell Brewing

Live music is a fun way to spend any weekend. Odell Brewing is known for hosting festivals, music, and other great celebrations, and this year's Labor Day weekend is no exception.

Septemeber 1st: Come for live music from Casey Russel's Soul Shack and Ley Line, beginning at 2 pm and running through 7 pm.

September 2nd: This night's live music features The Unemployed Architects from 5 to 7 pm.

September 3rd: Labor Day's live music special will be a performance from Amy and the Peace Pipes from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.

 

Visit The Gardens on Spring Creek

If you enjoy nature and the outdoors, this 18-acre botanical garden is a great way to spend part of your Fort Collins Labor Day in 2018. The Gardens on Spring Creek is located on Spring Creek Corridor in Fort Collins and is perfect for families and people of all ages. You'll be sure to enjoy the beauty in their various gardens, learn about plants native to Colorado, and get great ideas on how to improve your own yard or garden.

The suggested donation for this Fort Collins botanical garden is $5 for adults and $2 for children. The visitor center and garden hours on Labor Day this year are 10 am to 2 pm.
