Date Night at the 4th Street Chophouse

April 28, 2016

Loveland is affectionately and aptly known as the Sweetheart City and it has a lot to offer local sweethearts looking for a new date night idea. Whether you are going on your first date or celebrating a wedding anniversary, Loveland’s 4th Street Chop House is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.

The 4th Street Chop House is a locally owned landmark in downtown Loveland that has been home to countless dates for couples of Loveland and surrounding areas in Northern Colorado for nearly fifteen years. Designed with a sophisticated ambiance, the Chop House provides an elegant yet comfortable setting for a romantic dinner for two. Owner Mike McCarty intended the space to reflect the historic and refined style of 1938 Chicago. Through the combination of exposed brick, tin ceilings, antique photos, oak paneling, and custom-built period light fixtures, 4th Street Chop House embodies his vision while embracing the neighborhood’s history. The charming details that comprise its casual elegance allow it to become an intimate location for a night out.

They serve a traditional yet sophisticated menu that reflects a classic steakhouse dinner. Naturally, the Chop House specializes in steak and seafood, but it also offers a variety of upscale entrees to cater to any appetite. For a classic starter, the Wedge Salad with Maytag blue cheese crumbles, apple wood smoked bacon, heirloom tomatoes and red onion atop an iceberg wedge is a favorite among regular guests and a recommended choice. Other delicious starters to consider are their Shrimp Cocktail served with a homemade horseradish cocktail sauce, or the Colorado Cheese Board with a varying daily selection of cheeses, sliced salami, crackers, raspberry coulis, spiced pecans, and olive tapenade.

Pecan Topped Halibut served with a tarragon beurre blanc is a popular seafood specialty. Another specialty is their Cedar Plank Salmon, which is drizzled with a balsamic reduction and served with Cajun Remoulade. For steak aficionados, you cannot go wrong with their USDA Prime Top Sirloin, which is grilled to your desired degree of doneness and finished with a balsamic glaze and Maytag blue cheese crumbles. Another steak specialty, Tournedos Au Poivre, consists of two tenderloin medallions seared with a pepper crust and served on two crustinis in a delicious Armagnac cream sauce.

For the pasta lover, they offer Lobster Ravioli, stuffed with both lobster and ricotta cheese and tossed in an artichoke-lobster cream sauce. Complete your meal with a decadent Chocolate Slab. The six-layer buttermilk chocolate cake drizzled with raspberry sauce offers a delicious combination of dark and sweet. A selection from their extensive wine and martini list will be the perfect complement to whichever unique dish you choose. Among their most popular drinks is the Moscow Mule in which Spring 44 Vodka, ginger beer, fresh mint and lime are served over ice in a copper mug.

The restaurant is a popular location for many Loveland residents, so reservations are encouraged. 4th Street Chophouse is a local gem that provides a warm and sophisticated atmosphere for a memorable date night.
