It’s that time of year again: the leaves are changing, school is back in session, and football season is here! Honestly, there’s nothing better than attending a college football game, especially if you live in a college town like Ft. Collins. More exciting than a Friday night High School game, less expensive than a pro game, it’s a fun and affordable option for your weekend entertainment, especially for college students and local families.
Since it’s opening weekend for College Football Season, and as usual the CSU Rams are playing the CU Buffaloes in the Rocky Mountain Showdown (6 P.M. Mountain, ESPN) – a rivalry that goes back to 1893 – for the Centennial Cup, CSU has published a video describing how to cheer on the Rams during the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
It’s an exciting time to live in Ft. Collins, no doubt about it! Be sure to take a quick peek at the video, so you can join in tonight’s festivities.
Coach Mike Bobo and the CSU Rams played a decent season in 2015 with 7 wins, including winning the Bronze Boot and the Ram-Falcon Trophy. They played a tremendous game at the Arizona Bowl, losing by a tiny margin. This year is set to be different; Coach Bobo thinks it will be exceptional.
In a video last April, after his first season as head coach, Mike Bobo told Campus Insiders that the biggest goal he has for the team is working on their turnover ratio. He thinks he’s put together a team that is good enough to make another Bowl Game appearance, and compete for the Mountain West Championship.
As the 22nd Head Coach at CSU, Mike Bobo has led 5 players to All Mountain West Honors, including a finalist for the Ray Guy Award. He had 3 running backs set records for 140+ rushing yards each, and last year the Quarterback set a passing record for a CSU Sophomore, with 2,679 yards and 21 touchdowns. He and the team are definitely on track for a superior 2016 season.
