February 3, 2016

The season of love is almost upon us, and it’s the time of year whenloveland sweetheart stamp Loveland, Colorado, lives up to its name by transforming into a land full of love. Known around the world as “Sweetheart City,” Loveland spreads Valentine’s Day cheer by putting its stamp—literally—on cards sent all over the globe.

Each year, Loveland puts a special “Sweetheart Stamp” on more than 125,000 cards and letters. This year’s Sweetheart verse commemorates the 70th anniversary of Loveland’s special festivities and reads as follows:

“The Sweetheart City is the land of love
From the mountains to the lakes and up above.
Sending you a Loveland Valentine sealed with a kiss,
Letting you know you’re not to be missed.”

While this service is free, participants must follow directions and deadlines to take advantage. Use the following steps to get your special 2016 Sweetheart Stamp:

1. Write a card or letter and address and stamp it as normal.
2. Put your card in a larger envelope (multiple cards can be placed in the same large envelope) and mail to:
